Toronto Yunus Emre Institute Becomes Operational

Yunus Emre Institute is expanding its worldwide network. Accordingly, Yunus Emre Institute recently started operations in Canada.

Having completed its legal infrastructure late last year, the Institute will operate from now on in its own building in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Reminding that Yunus Emre Institute has opened cultural centers all over the world as Turkey's leading cultural diplomacy institution, Toronto Yunus Emre Institute Director Bülent Üçpunar stated: "Yunus Emre Toronto Turkish Cultural Center is starting is becoming operational in its own building. Our work in Canada will be centered in Toronto and will take place in the country's prominent cities and states.

Yunus Emre Institute Toronto Director Üçpunar noted that many provinces participated in the online Turkish courses they launched and added: "Canada as a country is important for us in many ways. We aim to contribute to the establishment of strong ties between our country and Canada with the cultural activities we will organize.”

Stating that Yunus Emre's verse “Let's get acquainted” is an important motto that inspires them in their work, Üçpunar made the following remarks:

"That is why we are calling out to everyone living in Canada, as well as our Turkish citizens here, when we say ‘Let's get acquainted’. Wherever we are, we want to meet all the people living there by explaining and introducing the beauties of Turkish culture without any discrimination.

Bülent Üçpunar stated that the opening of the Yunus Emre Institute Toronto Yunus Emre Turkish Cultural Center will enable them to provide continuous service to all Canadians, especially the Turkish community living in Toronto, and added that the work will take shape according to the demands of the community. Üçpunar emphasized that from now on they will try to reach people with all kinds of activities in every field of culture and arts and that they aim to contribute to the relations between Turkey and Canada through culture and arts.
